Choosing the Right Hospital |
|||||||
|
It's definitely important to choose a hospital that is comfortable, convenient, and is known to have a caring and experienced staff. This is why it is good to look into your hospital choices during your first or second trimester. I would suggest first asking your healthcare provider where he or she recommends, since they know first hand by assisting in deliveries at different hospitals, and they also know by hearing feedback from their patients. They also tend to keep up-to-date with certain information and developments at local hospitals, so may know what programs and perks are available and how dedicated the staff are. Your doctor should also have some literature or informational packets available on each hospital and birthing center. Once you get a general idea on which hospitals you are considering, take some time to visit and ask questions. If the staff are more than happy to assist you in your decision, answer your questions, give you a tour, or provide you with some literature, you know that one is top on the list. |
